Our Services

We are the Family Education Center. We are family and relationship teachers. Since 1975 we have helped thousands of individuals, couples, families, and organizations develop and practice the skills to build and nourish relationships.

Whether your family is in the home, in the workplace, in your school, place of worship, or your community, we can help you develop and practice the skills for leading a more fulfilling and joyful life.

Couple Education

Whether you are planning to be married, have been married for a short time, or are in a long-term relationship with a partner, paying attention to your marriage can have powerful results.  We have learned that the key to successful marriage is a willingness to approach the relationship with awareness, trying to remain conscious of our goals, dreams, and needs.  Through our Couple Education program, and through our consultation with individual couples, we teach the skills necessary for rich and successful partnerships. Parenting and Families

Living in a family is sometimes discouraging to parents and children alike.  Despite the promise of Ozzie and Harriet or Leave it to Beaver, successful families don't just happen.  They are the result of conscious effort and deliberate action.  Raising children is a challenge to even the most loving and well-intentioned parent. The joys and stresses of guiding your children can be put into perspective with effective parenting skills. These skills are learnable!  Our Parent Education program offers skills for parents who want their child-rearing task to be a positive, encouraging experience.

An essential component of our Family Education program is teaching families how to have effective family meetings.  Family meetings provide an opportunity for mutually supportive, encouraging and respectful dialogue that features equal participation among parents and children.  Effective family meetings are not gripe sessions, or meetings called only in times of trouble.  Families learn to resolve conflicts and solve problems in gentle and respectful ways, plan activities together, and simply have more fun together as a family.  Our Family Meeting Course teaches families the philosophy and the process for using this powerful tool.

Conflict Management

We offer a variety of services to help couples, individuals, workgroups, schools, and religious organizations deal with conflict and anger management. Our Guided Conflict Resolution process is a formal one, which can be taught in a structured classroom format, or applied on the spot in a crisis.

Individual Consultation

We can all benefit from help and support at one time or another as we make our way through life. There may be times when things seem out of our control. We can feel overwhelmed by feelings of stress, anxiety, anger, or depression.  Or we may simply feel directionless and frustrated.   Personal, individual consultation can be enormously helpful in our efforts to understand our feelings, make decisions, or change non-productive behavior patterns.
